Why Jeb Bush Will Likely Be The Next President- And How Donald Trump Helped Him

The last name 'Bush' in the United States brings up thoughts of corporate greed, high taxes for the poor, war mongering and the worse terrorist attack in American history. Weapons of mass destruction was a farce- the war in Iraq was a waste of valuable resources and American lives, and the toll of human death and suffering in Iraq can't be adequately summarized.

I want to start by saying that I am not a fan of politicians. I don't like them as a general rule. I am not liberal, nor am I conservative. In fact, I am Canadian with a green card living in the US, so I can't even vote. I find politicians in this country to be the epitome of every butt of ever joke ever told about them. Why we allow buffoons to run this country is beyond me. The political game sickens me. Anywhere you have a pack of lawyers- there's going to be a dog fight that resorts to the lowest of the low.

Having touched upon my thoughts of politicians in general, I will say that despite my general distrust for all of them, I do believe though, that Jeb Bush will make the best candidate for the next President. And, here's why.

Setting aside his name, as well as the Bush dynasty, I believe that Jeb Bush will make education in the United States his top priority for his campaign as president. He has spent most of his time as Governor of Florida advocating for education. He helped start Florida’s first charter school. He says schools and teachers should be judged on student performance. He pushed for vouchers for private schools.

Sixteen years ago, Bush announced his idea for school reform.

The plan was built on three ideas:

1. Set high goals for students.
2. Hold schools accountable for poor performance, and reward those which succeed.
3. Expand school choices for parents and students.

This has since become a sort of blueprint for Republicans, and President Obama has even said encouraging words about Jeb Bush's education reform.

Bush has had close ties to the Latino community throughout his life. He has a bachelor's degree in Latin American Studies from the University of Texas, spent part of his early career living in Venezuela and he speaks Spanish fluently. His wife was born in Mexico.

He has set himself apart from many Republicans eyeing the presidency as a strong supporter of laws that would provide a pathway to citizenship for immigrants living in the United States illegally. In 2013, he published a book outlining a plan for immigration called Immigration Wars: Forging an American Solution.

In April 2014, he defended the reason why undocumented immigrants come to the United States, which drew the ire of conservatives. As an immigrant myself, I came to the US illegally and I know the red tape it took for me to get my Green Card. What so many people don't realize is that immigrants come to this country to escape poverty, abuse and starvation. These people just want a better life. They are the ones leaving their homes and they are the ones speaking more than one language. When I hear things like 'Kick them all out' I cringe. It's like sending people to their deaths in one way or another.

"Yes, they broke the law, but it's not a felony," Bush said in a Fox News interview. "It's an act of love. It's an act of commitment to your family."

As I mentioned before- I don't trust politicians in any way, shape or form. When 'The Donald' came out with his words on Mexican Immigrants being rapists, etc- (idiot)- the first thing I thought was 'Hmm.. A man this rich can't be this dumb.'

I had to think about this for awhile because Trump inherited his wealth and has declared bankruptcy several times-and he's a reality star- dumbest of the dumb on television... And then I thought some more.

'The Donald' will never want to be President for real. He knows he'd never win, and he knows he would have to release his full financial information to the public- and there is no way in hell he would do that.

What else motivates The Donald besides Russian women? Money. Who has money? The Bushes. Maybe.. just maybe... Jeb and family paid Trump to make those idiotic comments to unite the Latina vote (which they did), making the push for a pro-immigration candidate even stronger?

Well- if Trump wasn't paid- that makes him just stupid. Which, may very well be the case. But- I think it's something the Bushes would do. What do you think?

Again on the education point, the Common Core sets education levels all over the United States to a certain standard. Many of the Republicans are against the Common Core because they think it will be a federal takeover of education. The Common Core, however, is a State Lead Effort.

Anytime there's a clear establishment favourite, he wins.

Endorsements help because they send a signal to voters who might be confused in a field of candidates who often sound a lot alike. Another way of saying this is that endorsements lend credibility to a candidacy. At the same time, party insiders can help deflate the hopes of insurgents. Remember how many people came out against Newt Gingrich when he was rising in the polls in 2012?

Jeb Bush would likely win the most endorsements because he is the embodiment of the party establishment. Back in 2012, Jeb Bush held out on endorsing any Republican until he talked out in March and said that he endorsed Romney and told Republicans "now is the time for Republicans to unite behind Governor Romney". He is a leader and well respected by his peers.

Bush's endorsement started a log of support for Romney including popular senator Marco Rubio of Florida and representative Paul Ryan of Wisconsin. Romney won three of the next four primaries, including in the key midwestern states of Illinois and Wisconsin. Conservative rival Rick Santorum's money dried up, and he quit his campaign by early April.

Bush was governor of a large state for eight years and won easily both times. You can argue that he's flipped between a pathway to citizenship or legal residency for undocumented immigrants, but he has no real skeletons in his closet (none that I really know of). Besides, his immigration flip is far smaller than being pro-choice and pro-life like Romney- which is far from Moderate and quite frankly, a republican candidate needs to be moderate and relate able.

You can see how well Bush did in Florida by looking at the numbers. He has an impressive +21 net favorable among voters in Florida, which is higher than any elected official in the state. That's unchanged from his net approval rating during his final year in office. His net favorable among Republican is +81, higher than the very high Marco Rubio.

As an unwritten rule, when losing two presidential races in a row, parties tend to nominate candidates who are more moderate than their prior nominees. For example. Jimmy Carter was more moderate than McGovern, Clinton was more moderate than Dukakis, and Bush was more moderate than Dole.

Jeb Bush is actually to the left of every possible nominee with the exception of maybe New Jersey's Chris Christie and former Utah governor Jon Huntsman. Bush isn't too far to the left. The distance between Bush and Romney is about half the gap between Christie and Romney. He's not too far of a jump to Republicans, yet can give Republicans reassurances that he gives them a better shot in the general election. This is what Republicans need, they want to bend toward the liberal side of things without losing their original ideologies.

Bush's stances on immigration and issues overall likely will help him somewhat. Ideology is vastly overrated in terms of winning election. Still, it can make a one or two point difference, which is all you need in a very close election.

I think that Jeb Bush is more liked and easier to relate to. Of course, the fact that he's a 'third Bush' doesn't help with the liberal/Democratic voters. And of course, Bush isn't perfect. But I think he's definitely the best candidate.

The Bush name is no longer toxic, and whether we like it or not, history is already been kind to George W Bush. History will not be kind to President Obama.

Bush was a successful governor of a big key state, with a reputation for moderation, even if it’s been a while. He's proven that he can certainly raise money. Judd Legum, a progressive journalist said recently that Republicans “tend to go with moderates and known quantities."

I think the United States needs a moderate- who has the strength and ambition to change education and stand up for the United States when it comes to terrorists. I think Jeb Bush is the best candidate for President.

I have not focused on why he shouldn't be a candidate purposefully on this write-up. This just outlines some of the positives for Bush and his campaign for POTUS.
